HEAR offers members an opportunity to host a meaningful and personal ceremony and reception for their graduating senior, their family, and their friends.
This graduation ceremony is unique in that each graduate and family is personally recognized and honored. Each family presents their graduate with a diploma from their school*. The family speaks about their homeschool journey and shows a photo slideshow of their graduate.
Guests are invited to a reception following the ceremony.
To participate in the ceremony you must:
Be a current HEAR member
Have paid your dues and submitted your membership form by October 31st**
Submit forms in the school year in which your child would be graduating. For example, you should submit a participation form in August 2014 (and not before) if your senior's graduation is June 2015.
*HEAR is a support group and therefore does not determine graduation requirements or provide a diploma. HEAR contributes funds to the participating members to assist in planning the event. Each home school determines the graduation requirements and if/when their student has met those requirements. Please refer to the NC DNPE's site for graduation requirements.
**Exception may be made for families moving into the area and therefore joining HEAR after stated deadline
